Well, what is it that makes people want to blog? What makes people scribe every composed and uncomposed thought on virtual paper and publish it for a million people to read? I got curious.I see that blogs act as living autobiographies, virtual diaries and what not? Interesting..I see so many friends blogging. Seems to help them stay in touch with like minded people too. Hmmm.. "Will people forget my very existence if i do not share a part of the blog pie? I better blog!", I say.
Alright, so I log into probably the most famous place to blog - Blogger. Fairly simple to create the blog, I see. I spend about an hour choosing the right colour, texture, background, format, layout, photo ..blah blah blah and finally, finally.. I'm all set to publish my thoughts on the World of the Wide of the Web! Simple enough again.. Click on "Create Post". Great. Ummm..I stare a condensed form of a word processor, and I stare..blank..blank..blink..blink..What do I write?! Is this what they call the 'writer's blog'..I mean..'writer's block'?! Now I'm in a soup.
I decide that I want to write something unique about myself, or about what I do or like. But I don't want it to be one of those autobiographies with photographs of every b'day celebration n outing with friends. I've come this far and my ego is as big as the blank space on my screen. I want to blog and I don't know what to blog about! I see that one of my buddies is writing seriously about his technical aspirations, understandings and concepts...eeks..I'm no techie! Hmm..another friend writing about her new enterpreunerial venture(man! blogging makes u learn spelling! thanks to MS word, i could spell that word). Wish I had my own company to write about. I don't travel. I don't go on adventurous trips... oh man..What do I write?! Have I nothing unique about myself to write about? Just starting to write is giving me an new insight into my life..Blah..not really ;-)
Without an idea of what I want to write about, without an idea of what the purpose is, I've begun my journey. I realise that my blog, is all set to be a record of my unhindered flow of lateral and parallel thoughts (sounds fancy!). I leave now, to return another day..hopefully more composed, more focused and more verbose.. TO BLOG!
Wow, finally... Welcome pal.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter how often you blog. Earlier, (in 2004) when I started writing, we had to keep writing something and send email invitations to followers so that there is a decent traffic to our site. But now, thanks to RSS, google following, the whole lot is simple. I use my browser, subscribe to your feeds else follow you with google!
So, take your time for the next blog.
Read your successive blogs, you don't write like an amateur. Your blogs contain a lot of substance!
